Description: | Jake Blues, just out from prison, puts together his old band to save the Catholic home where he and brother Elwood were raised. | Comments: | This is a truly great movie. How can you go wrong when a film has this many soul and blue singers, car chases, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, John Candy, Henry Gibson, great music, dancing, and the Godfather of Soul, The Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Mr. Dynamite, Soul Brother Number one, JJJJAAAAAMMMMMEEEEESSSSS BBBBBRRRRROOOOWWWWWWNNNNN!!! The movies in the early years by these original SNL alumni have such an energy and unusual element that make movies like this one, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack and the like really good. The fact this movie was not slapstick funny, but an odd kind of funny. There was almost no slapstick, and it was very interesting to me to see that having their home blown up was so uneventful. The music here and the dancing make this a spectacle in itself. There are countless musicians in this movie that make this the spectacle it is. See this, it's excellent |
