Description: | A teenager accidentally activates a machine that enables him to make time stand still. | Comments: | In Clockstoppers, Zak Gibbs, a high-school student whose father is an inventor and a teacher, has discovered a watch which he at first thinks is ordinary, but which proves to make everything else not physically touching him, stand still as if it were a photograph. At the same time, he gets a relationship started with Francesca, the new Hispanic beauty at his school. The couple at first stop time with the watch to do whatever will help them personally, although Dr. Gibbs, Zak's dad, has better things in mind about what to do with the watch. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! A few secret agents also have identical watches, and they are using them too, to set Zak, and his friends and family up, for trouble and danger. It is now up to Zak and Francesca to unveil the truth of what is going on, for only they, Dr. Gibbs, and the agents know the real truth, since no one else has yet heard of the watch, or even heard of anything being able to stand still but have a few being going super fast before. Dr. Gibbs is captured by the agents, and Zak and Francesca go to rescue him, only to be captured by the agents themselves. But the three diverge a plot to escape from the chamber where they are being held, and get the agents captured and brought to justice by the police. This movie was pretty interesting, but the acting wasn't top notch, and on top of that, the theme and enviornment of the movie could have been a bit more exciting and bright. I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. |
