| Description: | Both dumped by their girlfriends, two best friends seek refuge in the local mall. | Comments: | This movie was a pretty cool example of Kevin Smith's fine writing and directorial style. However, in comparison to his previous work, Clerks, and the immediate "sequel", Chasing Amy, Mallrats seems, to me, to be too "Hollywood". That is, the independent flair which permeates the other films from Smith's Jersey Trilogy is noticeably missing. That is not to say Mallrats sucks. To the contrary.
